Adisyn is Home!!!

We got home around 2:30 yesterday afternoon. Adisyn pretty much slept the whole rest of the day and then guess what....yep she was wide awake most of the night. I finally got to go to sleep at 3:30 and she woke back up to eat at 6am.. Welcome to motherhood,HAHAHA!! She is eating good but we have to trick her into latching onto me by filling a syringe with milk and spraying it in her mouth so she gets a taste of it first before she will start sucking. So it is kind of a pain to start feeding her but once she is on she does great.I always have to have someone here to squirt the milk (or a third hand,HA) I don't know what I would do without my mom here to help since Moe is at work I would be here all by myself trying to figure all this out. She has been incredible help to us. I will never be able to repay her for this.
Adisyn sprayed poop all over grandma this morning. Mom thought she was done pooping and went to change her and when she pulled her legs up to wipe her she sprayed poop all over the front of moms shirt. Not only once but twice,LOL... we got a good laugh out of it.
Well I am glad we are home, I couldn't stay at the hospital one more night. I am trying to get us in a routine and so far today she has done well. Just trying to keep her awake a little more today so she will sleep tonight, I can't go on 2 1/2 hrs of sleep again. It's so funny how tired you are and no matter how frustrated you get sometimes, you grow to love them more and more everyday. I wouldn't trade a second of being with her for anything in the world. I am so lucky to have given birth to such a perfect baby!! I will post pictures of our homecoming soon.

We should get to go home this afternoon!!!

YAY!!!! The Dr. came in last night and said since Adisyn has done a total turn around in the last 2 days that we should be able to take her home this afternoon. How exciting!!!!! Starting sometime yesterday she finally latched onto me and we are now breastfeeding. She is eating like a champ now. She never cries. Seriously.....Its crazy how good she is, I just hope it stays this way. I will post pics of our arrival home and keep you posted on how she does once we get home too. She is just PERFECT!!!!!!

3 Days old!!!

So miss Adisyn has been taken off of her antibiotics but the Dr. wants to monitor her till tomorrow morning while she is off her meds. They will do more blood work in the morning and if all is well the Dr. will send us home tomorrow. She is eating from the bottle well but still not breastfeeding. My milk is starting to come in so hopefully the transition from eating from the bottle to me will go well.

Love her!!!

update on Adisyn and me

Still in the hospital. Adisyn' s white blood cell count is still higher than they would like so the Dr. wants Adisyn to stay overnight again so they could run more blood work in the morning to see if her WBC count is more on a normal level and keep giving her antibiotics. We are hoping and saying many prayers that she can come home tomorrow. They have discharged me so I am just in the hospital for one more night so that I can be here to feed her. Moe has to go back to work tomorrow morning so Mom is staying with me for the night to help out.
The first 24 hours of feedings were really rough. I am trying to breastfeed but since they had to suction her out as soon as she was born it caused her to have a sore throat and she has a hard time wanting to swallow anything. She has fed from me a few times but she will no longer latch on. I still don't have my milk in so that makes it harder to feed and she just doesn't want to work for it. This morning was the first successful feeding with a bottle of formula. She drank almost 2 oz. which was such a relief. Since she wasn't eating from me or a bottle the first day they were possibly going to have to feed her through an IV. All last night she would eat and then just spit it back up or not eat it at all. We switched the type of nipple and bottle this morning and I think that made all the difference. She takes forever to eat and we have to wake her up to eat and sometimes she falls back asleep while she is eating. But all that matters is that we are getting her to eat something and she is using the bathroom consistantly. Hopefully once my milk comes in she will eat from me instead.
She is so perfect. I love everything about her. This has been an incredible experience and even though it wasn't the most pleasant experience I would do it all over again. I can just stare at her all day. She is so cuddly.I just can't wait to take her home with us. I just want her to feel well. I don't know that I mentioned previously why she and I may have had an infection and fevers. She had a bowel movement in the womb and if she swallowed any of it that is what could cause an infection. They knew this before she was born so they were prepared to take her away and give her special attention. So in other words she has not been feeling 100% since she was born. But each day has been getting better and better. Did I say how much I love her yet??? Well I will keep everyone posted on what we find out tomorrow. Hopefully we will be bringing her home. Thanks for all your prayers!!

Adisyn Rochelle Mulhall

Adisyn was born July 24th at 7:12 pm 8 lbs 8oz and 20.5 inches long. She is adorable!!!! She is in NICU for 2-7 days because she possibly has an infection. Both Adisyn and I had fevers and possible infections. They had to take her away as soon as she was born and run test and put her on an IV. She is stable now just waiting for the test results to come back. For me, they had to put me on antibiotic and my fever has gone away as of this morning. They will be testing my placenta to see what spiked my fever.
So as you probably figured out I didn't have to be induced. After the Dr. scheduled for me to be induced at my Fri. afternoon appt. I began having contractions around 11:10 Fri. night they started coming every 5 min. for 45-60 sec. apart. Called the Dr. and she sent me to the hospital. I arrived at the hospital my contractions became super intense I had them all night and didn't sleep at all. In the morning they broke my water and then I was able to dilate more and I got the epidural. I took 2 1 hr naps and I was able to start pushing around 4:30 and then the hard part started and it was very intense and hard. Adisyn just didn't want to cooperate. at the end we finally had to have some help by suctioning her out when I pushed. My body is so sore today. Thank God for epidurals and pain meds.Ice packs are going to be my best friend for a while. But all the hard work I did yesterday was all worth it. I had such a hard time with them taking her away as soon as I had her. I was so sad. I didn't even get enjoy being with her last night. But hopefully her test results come back good and we will get to take her home with us on Monday. I had the best nurse yesterday to get me through the hard labor. My mom, Susan, Denise, and Moe were all there to support me as well. Moe and Susan held my legs and mom and Denise took pictures. I am so glad they were all in the room with me, I don't know what I wouldv'e done without them. I will keep everyone posted on Adisyn's progress over the next couple of days. Hopefully GOOD NEWS!! Please keep us all in your prayers.
